My name is Lev Goukassian, I'm almost 60, I live in California, retired. Four months ago I listed on Ebay for fast cheap sale ($50K) my property, land in Allegany County, NY parcel #: 147.-1-6.121. I received a written purchase offer from Mr. Edward White to close this deal in one week for $38,100, and I agreed. Mr. White runs White Holdings, LLC, and he is the owner of 109 NY land parcels, many of them in your county. I did provide my land's title to Mr. White, and was expecting the payment in a week as he promised. 3 weeks after the sale Mr. White contacted me with a demand to change the agreement to $10K down, and $5K monthly for next 6 months. As much I did not want to accept this offer, but I felt pushed to the wall in fear of a loss of my land, I agreed.
By the time of the first payment for January, Mr. White demanded again to change the payments to $1K a month, and here my patience just went ballistic. My monthly bills are about $5500, I don't have any other income but selling my land. I absolutely declined Mr. White's, and then I've received this email:
"Lev, my attorney told me that this transaction has been finalized and that I owe you nothing else as per the law. Whats your take on this?"
You might ask why I didn't use Escrow service. I did, what I didn't know that his wife, Ms. Michele White, is running the Escrow .
At this point I have no money, no land, the only what I have is a huge health stress, and a feeling of being scammed.
