What is your primary product or service?
Fine art in all mediums and a broad price range, unique handcrafted gifts, residential and commercial art consultant, design and placement services.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
The Landing at Pultneyville was being built and my interest was to start a business that would be compatible with an upscale restaurant which was soon to be the first tenant in the building. While 25 miles east of Rochester, having an opportunity to attract visitors to the area was compelling. An art gallery seemed to be a natural knowing that there are many fine artists in the area with no local venue in which to show their work. The building which was built in 1858 is a prominent landmark in the charming historic lakeside hamlet of Pultneyville which celebrates the creative and culinary abundance of the area.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
The gallery thrives with an eclectic collection of fine art created by over 60 local, regional and nationally acclaimed artists which includes all mediums in a broad price range.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One location. Opened in 2005 with 700 square feet and in 2008 doubled space by expanding to a special events room on the lower level of the building which is fondly referred to as the "Art Room" which is used to host small intimate parties, private dinners, wine tastings and more!
